DiSCOVERY SPRINT

Two weeks to know exactly what your site needs.

You have traffic. Your CEO is asking why the site isn't converting. The Discovery Sprint surfaces the specific constraints blocking conversion — ranked by evidence, scored with PXL, and ready to act on.
AI-assisted analysis. Senior sense.
I use a custom AI agent I built in Claude Code to compress what traditionally takes weeks of manual data synthesis into just days. Faster clarity, same rigor.
includES:
  • Funnel analysis and automated signal analysis across pages and user flows.
  • Competitive analysis — site audit and SWOT of 2–3 direct competitor sites.
  • Claude Code custom AI agent accelerates qualitative coding — research themes tagged and ranked in hours, not days.
  • Senior interpretation at every step — no unreviewed AI output.
Every diagnosis tied to evidence.
You won't be handed off to a junior strategist. I run the engagement — the interviews, qualitative coding, affinity mapping, and synthesis to convert raw data into identified growth constraints.
includES:
  • Stakeholder interviews structured around your goals, prior experiments, and tool access — using my standardized guide.
  • User and VOC (Voice of the Customer) research synthesis — themes tagged by funnel stage and mapped to PXL prioritization scoring criteria.
  • Affinity map of the most frequent user pain points, ranked by severity and frequency.
A priority list, not a pile of slides.
This is the starting position for The Growth Signal System — scored growth constraints and prioritized hypotheses that feed into the Strategy & Roadmap.
includES:
  • 3–5 primary growth constraints, each grounded in data.
  • PXL-scored priority ranking — 9 binary criteria per opportunity.
  • Implementation tiering — Tier 1 items your team can start without engineering.
  • Leadership summary of the findings and recommendations.

common questions
Everything you need to know before you start.
Two weeks, no ambiguity. Here’s how it works.
What exactly is a Discovery Sprint?
Chevron down icon
A focused, two-week engagement that diagnoses exactly what's blocking your website from converting. I review your analytics, conduct stakeholder interviews, synthesize customer research, and identify your primary web growth constraints — then deliver a ranked, PXL-scored priority list showing what to fix first, in what order, and why. It's the entry point to The Growth Signal System.

What is The Growth Signal System?
Chevron down icon
The structured methodology behind every engagement. The Growth Signal System converts diagnostic findings into a scored, evidence-required hypothesis list using PXL scoring — replacing opinion-driven prioritization with a ranked, defensible backlog. The Discovery Sprint seeds that system. The Strategy & Roadmap operationalizes it. The Fractional Leadership retainer runs it month over month.

How is this different from a CRO agency audit?
Chevron down icon
With an agency, you’re assigned to an account team — typically junior strategists who spend weeks ramping on your business before producing a generic report. With a Discovery Sprint, you work directly with me throughout. I’ve scaled web growth at 1Password, Dropbox, and Apple. The pattern recognition comes from having solved this exact problem at scale — not from a template.

What do I receive at the end?
Chevron down icon
Eight deliverables:
1. Data instrumentation health checklist;
2. Completed Diagnostic Scorecard — your web growth constraints documented and categorized by type and severity;
3. Competitive analysis for up to three competitor sites;
4. Stakeholder Interview Guide;
5. Voice of the customer synthesis template;
6. PXL Hypothesis intake form;
7. PXL-scored priority list of 10–15 hypotheses, ranked by impact, evidence strength, and implementation feasibility, with Tier 1 items flagged for immediate execution;
8. Leadership summary — clear enough to present at a board meeting, specific enough to hand to your team.

How much does it cost?
Chevron down icon
The Discovery Sprint introductory price is $8,000. No ongoing commitment — it’s a fixed-price, one-time engagement.

Can I do the Discovery Sprint without a follow-on engagement?
Chevron down icon
Yes. The Discovery Sprint is a standalone package. Many clients use the output to guide their own team's execution. Others roll into a Strategy & Roadmap or Fractional Leadership engagement — but that's a separate decision made after the sprint, not before.

What is PXL scoring?
Chevron down icon
A prioritization framework that evaluates every growth hypothesis against 9 binary criteria — evidence strength, traffic volume, above-the-fold placement, implementation effort, and more. Each criterion adds one point (max 14). The result is a ranked score that makes every prioritization decision defensible to your CEO, your CFO, and your engineering team. No more prioritization by committee.

When will I see results?
Chevron down icon
You’ll have your ranked priority list within 2 weeks of kickoff — fast enough to bring to your next leadership meeting. Measurable metric movement depends on how quickly your team executes the recommendations.

How long does the sprint take?
Chevron down icon
Two weeks from kickoff to delivery. Week one: kickoff session, stakeholder interviews, and analytics deep-dive. Week two: synthesis, PXL scoring, and preparation of your priority list and leadership summary. Most clients schedule the delivery session at the end of week two or early week three.

What do I need to prepare before we start?
Chevron down icon
You'll receive an Instrumentation Health Checklist before kickoff — a short Notion checklist you or your analytics lead completes to flag any gaps in your setup before diagnosis begins. Beyond that: read-only access to your GA4 account (or primary analytics platform). Session recording tools (such as Fullstory and Hotjar) are helpful but not required. I'll incorporate any existing customer research, VOC data, NPS results, or prior audits you have. Plan for 60–90 minutes of your team's time across stakeholder interviews.

What does week one look like?
Chevron down icon
We kick off with a 60-minute session with you and key team members. I then conduct individual stakeholder interviews (30–45 minutes each), run the analytics review independently, and begin customer research synthesis. I may send follow-up questions asynchronously if the data raises specific questions.

What does week two look like?
Chevron down icon
I synthesize everything from week one — integrating qualitative interviews, customer research, and affinity mapping with analytics to pinpoint actionable patterns. Each opportunity is scored, then prioritized for your executive team. I deliver a concise strategy and present clear recommendations in a dedicated session.

How much of my team’s time is required?
Chevron down icon
Approximately 3–4 hours total across the two weeks: the kickoff session, stakeholder interviews, and the delivery session. Beyond that, I work independently. Your team doesn’t need to manage me — that’s the point.

What is affinity mapping and qualitative coding?
Chevron down icon
Structured methods for turning raw interview data into patterns you can defend. Qualitative coding categorizes what interviewees say by theme, frequency, and severity — removing impression from the equation. Affinity mapping clusters those findings so the highest-impact patterns are obvious, not argued over. The output isn't a summary. It's a ranked view of what your users actually experience, backed by verbatim evidence. I use Claude Code to accelerate the coding step — what takes two to three days manually happens in hours.

What happens after the sprint ends?
Chevron down icon
You own the output. Most clients take the ranked priority list to their team and begin execution. Some roll into a Strategy & Roadmap engagement to build out a full scored backlog and sequenced roadmap. Others use the sprint output to justify a Fractional Leadership retainer. There’s no automatic continuation — the next step is always your decision.

Is my company a good fit?
Chevron down icon
The Discovery Sprint is designed for VP-level marketing and growth leaders at Series A–C B2B SaaS companies with 5,000+ monthly sessions and solid traffic but flat conversion rates. If your CEO is asking why the website isn't converting and you don't have a clear answer, you're the right fit.

What if my site has fewer than 5,000 monthly sessions?
Chevron down icon
Below 5,000 monthly sessions, the data is too thin to diagnose conversion patterns with confidence. At that stage, a 1-hour Expert Consulting session may be more appropriate — we can identify what to prioritize before traffic reaches the diagnostic floor.

Do you handle execution after the sprint?
Chevron down icon
No. I provide strategic diagnosis and a prioritized direction — not copy, code, or campaign execution. Your team or existing vendors handle implementation. I tell them what to build and why. This keeps the engagement lean and the recommendations grounded in your operational reality.

What if we’ve already done an internal audit?
Chevron down icon
We can work with it. Before kickoff, share what you've reviewed and what conclusions you've drawn. I'll identify what's missing, what needs independent verification, and where the internal analysis may have blind spots — then build the priority list from there.

Does this work for B2C eCommerce?
Chevron down icon
Yes, though the primary focus of this practice is B2B SaaS. I have direct B2C eCommerce experience from my time at Apple. If you’re a B2C brand with solid traffic and flat conversion rates, the Discovery Sprint framework applies equally well.

What if we want to keep working together?
Chevron down icon
Most clients who complete a Discovery Sprint move into a Strategy & Roadmap engagement — which builds the full PXL-scored backlog, a Web Strategy, a Web Roadmap, and an initialized Continuous Learning Repository — or a Fractional Leadership retainer for ongoing strategic guidance. Both options are on the Pricing page.

The Strategy & Roadmap package is $12,000 and includes everything in the Discovery Sprint ($8,000 value). If you've already completed a Discovery Sprint with me, ask about adjusted pricing for the strategy and roadmap component.

What's the difference between the Discovery Sprint and Strategy & Roadmap?
Chevron down icon
The Discovery Sprint diagnoses the problem and delivers a scored starting position — 10–15 hypotheses, tiered and ranked, plus a Leadership Summary. The Strategy & Roadmap takes that foundation further: a Web Strategy, a Web Roadmap, a Continuous Learning Repository initialized and ready to log results, and the full Growth Signal System operational from day one. The Discovery Sprint is where the program starts. The Strategy & Roadmap is where it becomes fully executable.

What if the output doesn’t meet expectations?
Chevron down icon
If the priority list doesn’t reflect your actual constraints or misses something significant, I’ll make it right. The engagement isn’t complete until you have a clear, actionable output you can take to your team with confidence.
