STRATEGY & ROADMAP

A board-ready roadmap in 30 days.

End the debate over what to test. The Growth Signal System delivers a clear growth thesis, a prioritized backlog, and a sequenced web roadmap your team can execute immediately.
Diagnose before prescribing.
Every engagement starts with a Discovery Sprint. The result is a strategy grounded in evidence, not assumptions.
Includes:
  • Full Discovery Sprint — all diagnosis, interviews, and analysis included.
  • Structured stakeholder interviews and VOC research mapped to PXL scoring.
  • Web funnel analysis, heuristic UX audit, and recorded session review (if available).
  • Competitive analysis: site audit and SWOT of 2-3 direct alternatives.
Every test decision is defensible.
Know what drives growth. The growth system turns diagnostics into an actionable plan. Your team moves from debate to execution on day one.
Includes:
  • Growth thesis — the hypothesis, root causes, approach, and sequencing rationale captured in one actionable document.
  • PXL-scored backlog: 20–25 hypotheses, ranked by evidence and feasibility.
  • Pre-test briefs for the top 5 hypotheses.
  • Continuous Learning Repository — initialized and ready to log results from test one.
One blueprint. No confusion.
Get a web blueprint built for growth. Experiments are sequenced to compound learning and enable immediate action. The leadership summary translates priorities into board-ready language.
Includes:
  • Sequenced 3, 6, or 12-month roadmap accounting for your team’s real capacity.
  • Tier 1 tests flagged: start immediately, no engineering required.
  • Leadership summary: top priorities in plain language, readable in 90 seconds.

Senior expertise. Not an agency.
With a CRO agency, you're assigned to a junior team. With a full-time hire, you spend months recruiting. I deliver a board-ready roadmap in 30 days.
Right for you if:
  • Delivered in 30 days — not 4–8 weeks of agency onboarding.
  • Direct, 1:1 access to a senior operator throughout.
  • One-time cost — no monthly agency retainer.
  • You want a senior operator with a track record at Apple, Dropbox, and 1Password.

common questions
Everything you need to know before you start.
A strategy is only useful if there's a realistic plan to execute it. Here’s how it gets built.
What is the Strategy & Roadmap package?
Chevron down icon
Most clients get a board-ready roadmap in 30 days. The engagement starts with the full Discovery Sprint (diagnosis, analytics, stakeholder interviews) that feeds into a custom web growth strategy document, a PXL-scored experiment backlog with pre-test briefs for your top five experiments, and a sequenced 3, 6, or 12-month execution roadmap.

Does this include the Discovery Sprint?
Chevron down icon
Yes. The Strategy & Roadmap package includes the full Discovery Sprint. You pay once and get the complete engagement — diagnosis through deliverable. If you've already completed a Discovery Sprint with me, we can discuss building directly on those findings.

What is PXL scoring and why does it matter?
Chevron down icon
PXL scoring evaluates every growth hypothesis against 9 binary criteria — evidence strength, traffic volume, above-the-fold placement, implementation effort, and more. Each criterion adds one point (max 14). The result is a ranked score that makes every test decision defensible to your CEO, your CFO, and your engineering team. No more prioritization by committee.

What exactly is in the PXL-scored experiment backlog?
Chevron down icon
Every hypothesis is framed as a testable question with a primary metric, a PXL score, and an implementation tier. Tier 1 items require no engineering — your team can start them immediately. The backlog is ranked by score, so everyone always knows what comes next without a weekly debate.

What is a pre-test brief — and what does it prevent?
Chevron down icon
A pre-test brief locks in the primary metric, minimum sample size, required runtime, and confidence threshold before a test launches. It prevents the most common reason experiments stall: the post-launch argument over what "winning" actually means. Every top-five hypothesis in your backlog arrives with one written.

What does “board-ready” mean in practice?
Chevron down icon
The strategy document and roadmap are structured for two audiences. Your leadership team gets a one-page summary: growth thesis, top priorities, expected timeline. Your team gets the full PXL-scored backlog with detailed hypotheses. You can walk into a board meeting with the summary; your growth lead can run the program from the backlog.

How is this different from what a growth consultant delivers?
Chevron down icon
Most growth consultants deliver a strategy deck — a document describing what you should do, without a systematic basis for what comes first. The Strategy & Roadmap engagement delivers a PXL-scored backlog: every item has a score, and the score is based on evidence, not opinion. Your team can defend the sequencing without you in the room.

How is this priced vs. the Discovery Sprint?
Chevron down icon
The Strategy & Roadmap package is $16,000 and includes everything in the Discovery Sprint. If you've already completed a Discovery Sprint with me, ask about adjusted pricing for the strategy and roadmap component.

What is the full timeline?
Chevron down icon
4–5 weeks from kickoff to delivered roadmap.

Weeks 1–2: full Discovery Sprint (stakeholder interviews, analytics, VOC synthesis, competitive analysis).

Weeks 3–4: Web strategy development: Growth Thesis, full backlog scoring, pre-test briefs, and system initialization.

Week 4–5: delivery session, Leadership Summary, and final alignment before your team executes.

What exactly do I receive at the end?
Chevron down icon
Four deliverables: (1) a custom web growth strategy document — your north star for the engagement period; (2) a PXL-scored experiment backlog, ranked and tiered; (3) pre-test briefs for your top five experiments; (4) a sequenced 3, 6, or 12-month roadmap with Tier 1 tests flagged and a leadership summary included.

How do you build the PXL-scored backlog?
Chevron down icon
Each hypothesis is evaluated against 9 binary criteria. Criteria include whether the change is above the fold, whether the page has 1,000+ monthly sessions, whether there’s qualitative or quantitative evidence supporting the hypothesis, and whether implementation is low-effort. Each yes adds a point. I score every item and rank the backlog from 0–14.

What is AI-assisted analysis and how does it accelerate the timeline?
Chevron down icon
I use a custom AI agent (Claude Code) to accelerate the Discover and Diagnose phases — the parts of the engagement that traditionally require weeks of manual data synthesis. The AI surfaces patterns faster; I apply senior judgment to interpret what they mean. The output is the same PXL-scored backlog you’d get from a traditional engagement, delivered in less time.

Can the roadmap account for our dev bandwidth constraints?
Chevron down icon
Yes — explicitly. Before finalizing the sequencing, we discuss your team’s sprint capacity, dev availability, and any upcoming constraints. A roadmap that ignores bandwidth isn’t a roadmap — it’s a wish list. Tier 1 items are always flagged precisely so your team can act without waiting on engineering.

Do you need analytics access for the full engagement?
Chevron down icon
Yes — read-only access to GA4 or your primary analytics platform is required. Fullstory, Hotjar, or session tools are helpful but not required. If there are instrumentation gaps, I'll flag them as part of the diagnostic findings.

What if priorities shift significantly before the delivery session?
Chevron down icon
The roadmap is designed to be a living document — ranked by evidence, so when new information emerges, you know which items to re-evaluate. During the delivery session, we discuss trigger conditions that would cause a re-sort and how to handle them as the program evolves.

Who is the Strategy & Roadmap right for?
Chevron down icon
VP-level marketing and growth leaders at Series A–C B2B SaaS companies who are under pressure to show the board a credible growth plan — not just a list of initiatives. Typically teams with 5,000+ monthly sessions, no dedicated CRO function, and an execution team ready to ship tests.

How involved do I need to be?
Chevron down icon
Plan for roughly an hour per week from you or your lead growth person — for the kickoff interview, the strategy review, and the delivery session. After that, I work independently through the synthesis and scoring phases. You're not adding to your team's workload; you're removing ambiguity from it.

What if we already have an internal roadmap?
Chevron down icon
We can review it. The most common finding is that internal roadmaps are built on opinion rather than evidence — items aren’t scored, sequencing is political, and Tier 1 quick-wins are buried under larger structural changes. If your roadmap can be strengthened with PXL scoring, we’ll do that. If it needs to be rebuilt from the diagnostic baseline, we’ll do that too.

Do you need analytics access for the full engagement?

Yes — read-only access to GA4 or your primary analytics platform is required. Fullstory, Hotjar, or session tools are helpful but not required. If there are instrumentation gaps, I'll flag them as part of the diagnostic findings.

Do you handle implementation?
Chevron down icon
No. I provide the strategy, the scored backlog, and the roadmap — not copy, code, or campaign execution. Your team or existing vendors execute what’s on the roadmap. I tell them what to build and why.

What if our team can’t execute the roadmap after delivery?
Chevron down icon
This is exactly what the Fractional Leadership retainer is designed for. After Strategy & Roadmap, many clients move into ongoing fractional support: I guide execution, prioritize weekly, review test designs, and ensure the program compounds rather than stalling.

Can we get a 12-month roadmap with limited team resources?
Chevron down icon
Yes — and the sequencing accounts for it. Near-term items (0–90 days) are specifically executable given your current capacity. Medium-term items are scoped with constraints acknowledged. Long-term items set the program’s direction, not a firm schedule. The roadmap bends to your reality, not an ideal-world assumption.

What if we’re also evaluating a CRO agency?
Chevron down icon
A fair comparison. Agency timelines are 4–8 weeks to start, with junior teams ramping on your business over months, billed by the hour. The Strategy & Roadmap engagement delivers a board-ready roadmap in 30 days, from a senior operator with a track record at Apple, Dropbox, and 1Password, at a fixed one-time price. The question to ask any agency: who specifically is doing the work, and what’s their personal track record?
